How to Become a Better Writer: 15 Simple Pieces of Advice
People are often surprised when I tell them I went from studying Accounting to being a Writer within the course of a year.
“That’s using two different parts of the brain, you must be incredibly gifted,” they exclaim. Or, “How did you do that? That’s a very short time.”
However, I don’t see it like that; there are no limits. When you set a goal and then go about seeking quality information in order to obtain it, you can become whoever you intend to be.
In my case, I would spend 40+ hours each week reading, writing, and educating myself on what it took to become a top-tier writer.

Ryan Holiday
In his book, Perennial Seller, Ryan said that one of the best pieces of advice he’s ever received as a writer is that good nonfiction is either “very interesting” or “extremely practical.”
That’s also the best writing advice I’ve ever received. It’s one thing to change a person’s thinking, but if you can inspire someone to alter their behavior, they’ll never be the same again.
