Motivation is the Last Thing You Need to Worry About

When it comes to changing your behavior, getting started, or forming a habit, motivation is the last thing you need to worry about.

However, the problem is that most people mistakenly believe the opposite. They think that if only they could find the right motivator, then their life would suddenly change.

That they’d suddenly be waking up at 5am, journaling every day, and living the perfect life they know they should and could be.

But no: motivation is a nice to have. However, by no means is it essential. What drives behavior is not something that happens to you, but rather, what you do.

As Harvard psychologist, Jerome Bruner has said,

“You’re more likely to act yourself into feeling than feeling yourself into action.”
