There Is No Fear of Missing Out: Why It’s Okay to Not Be Where You Want to Be Yet

“It’s not where you are right now, it’s where you want to go.” -Benjamin P. Hardy

I often take a visit to LinkedIn and feel overwhelmed.

I see so many people on there living the life I want—traveling the world, starting all kinds of businesses and making amazing collaborations.

And in some way, you’ve probably felt the same. You’ve seen the lives of other people and felt you need to speed up in order to see and do it all.

But really, there is no fear of missing out. There is no objective benchmark to hit — there is simply the best you can do.

Wrote Ryan Holiday,

“Ignore what other people are doing. Ignore what’s going on around you. There is no competition. There is no objective benchmark to hit. There is simply the best you can do — that’s all that matters.”

When you truly internalize this message, you will quickly realize that it’s totally okay to not be where you want to be yet.
